We provide an in-depth comprehensive Pilates teacher training experience attuned to individual learning needs. Some of our students are already immersed in the worlds of movement and wellness, like dance, yoga, sports, and massage therapy.

  • Comprehensive training on the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair.

  • Possess a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
  • Conduct an interview with the Administrative Director in person.
  • Complete a minimum of six months continuous preparatory Pilates classes at Vitality Pilates. Class costs are included in the tuition.

Comprehensive Pilates Equipment Certificate

Students have 12 months to complete all course work and the 450 required hours. The curriculum includes the full spectrum of Pilates Mat, Equipment and props as well as studies in anatomy, special populations, and body reading. Upon successful completion of this program, students earn a Comprehensive Pilates Equipment Certificate.

This course includes access to all 3 studios for personal practice and teaching. Also included is 75 group classes (a $1,500 value).

Program Hours

Personal Practice

  • 75 hours of taking classes
  • 45 hours of peer practice/curriculum review
  • 75 hours of group class & private lesson observation

Practice Teaching

  • 100 hours of practice teaching
  • 50 hours of Community Reformer classes

Education

  • 105 hours of training modules

Weekly Time Commitment

In order to fulfill the minimum required hours, students must commit roughly 12-15 hours per week to their training for the duration of the program.

Students have 12 months to complete all course work and the 450 required hours. The curriculum includes the full spectrum of major Pilates equipment and props as well as rigorous studies in anatomy, special populations, and postural analysis.

Equipment Written Exam – Scheduled: History, Principles, Theory, Anatomy, Special Populations

Equipment Teaching Exams – by appointment: 30-minute Mat/Props, 50-minute Reformer/Cadillac, 20-minute Chair/Props

Upon successful completion of this program, students earn a Comprehensive Pilates Equipment Certificate.

Pilates Mat Certificate

Students have 6 months to complete all course work and 100 required hours. The Pilates Mat Certificate program includes the full Mat curriculum, Foam Roller, Magic Circle, Spine Corrector, as well as studies in anatomy and special populations. Upon successful completion of this program, students earn a Pilates Mat Certificate.

This course includes access to all 3 studios for personal practice and teaching. Also included is 25 group classes (a $750 value).

Teacher Training Academy Pricing

Equipment Certificate Tuition: $6,900
  • Early Bird Discount: Save $500 when you pay in full before January 1st or July 1st.
  • Pay in Full: Secure your spot with a $1,000 deposit at registration. The remaining balance is due February 1st or June 1st.
  • Payment Plan: Spread your $5,900 balance over 6 monthly payments of $1,080 each (includes a 10% finance fee).
Mat Certificate Tuition: $1,500
  • Pay in Full: One-time payment of $1,500.
  • Payment Plan: Make 2 payments of $800 each.
Additional Costs
  • Textbooks: Costs are estimated at around $150. Detailed information and required textbook lists can be found on pages 7 (for Equipment) and 9 (for Mat) of our Teacher Training Academy Catalog.
Contingency Fees
  • Missed Module Make-up Session: $375
  • Failed Exam Retake Fee: $95

    Transfer of Credit Policy

    Vitality Teacher Training Academy does not guarantee transfer of its credits to another institution. Credits from another institution for the Comprehensive Pilates Equipment Certificate will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. A maximum of 100 previously earned hours may be accepted at the discretion of the Admissions Director. Candidates with relevant certificates, diplomas or degrees should inquire. Tuition is reduced by $500 per 100 hours of credit. There is no fee required for the review of transcripts.

    Post-Program Opportunities

    The Comprehensive Pilates Equipment Certificate allows graduates to qualify for an entry-level position as a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher.

    Employment At Vitality Pilates

    The Pilates Teacher Training Academy does not state or imply that employment, occupational advancement, or certification are guaranteed upon completion of the program. After completion, graduates may apply for a teaching position through Vitality Pilates’ Human Resources Manager, however employment at Vitality Pilates is not inherent with enrollment.

    Pilates Method Alliance

    The Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) is the not-for-profit professional association dedicated to the Pilates field. Its mission is to advance Pilates as a profession and to promote and perpetuate the teachings of Joseph H. and Clara Pilates.     National Pilates Certification Program

    Candidates that provide evidence that they meet established professional standards are awarded the title of Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). One can sit the certification exam after graduating from a comprehensive Equipment Certificate program with a minimum of 450 hours. https://nationalpilatescertificationprogram.org
